As a reward for a job well done, Skirgaila received the Duchy of Trakai. When Jogaila was preparing for the Union of Kreva , Skirgaila was actively involved in the negotiations and even headed a diplomatic mission to Poland. The negotiations succeeded and Jogaila married Jadwiga of Poland and was crowned as King of Poland in He appointed Skirgaila on 13 March as governor in Lithuania, not only on his behalf but also on behalf of queen Jadwiga and Polish Crown . As ruler of Lithuania, Skirgaila had to deal with his oldest brother Andrei , who still was refusing to accept Jogaila as a Grand Duke. Obviously it did not really attract me. It was written in and it is a historical drama about Duke of Lithuania and that time policy. Its one of the most famous books in Lithuania literature. The story is set on Vilnius castle, which is the ruler of Jagaila, the great Duke of Lithuania. He desided that she must become his wife, but everyone objected. Interesting was the fact that the the arrival Germans Poles, they are trying to persuade Skirgaila and finally come up with, it might be a cunning plan, The Germans want to stir up the Poles Lithuanians, but Poles seek to kidnap Princess appropriating the lands of the Kingdom of Poland Lithuania.
Skirgaila seems to be aware of this and try to make every effort to move away. However, everything does not end there. German Keleris escape, but when he returns, do not go out alive. The most important character is Skirgaila. He is like having a dual personality - the ruler, man. As a person, he is a patriot, overbearing, strong character, but as a ruler he openly closed, sensitive and very lofty. In his hands is the fate of Lithuania. She issensitive, pious, brave and proud. But her fate depends Skirgaila hands.
I enjoyed this story becouse, the book is about the current political relations with Poland and Germany. About how baptized Lithuanians still believe in paganism. However, i would recommend this book to enyone who likes Lithuanian history and the people who want to pass the exam.
